Ghosts teach a lesson at Greene County Tech

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - There were ghosts at Greene County Tech on Wednesday, not the Casper like friendly spirits by teens killed by drunk driving or drugs.

The Greene County Tech High School E.A.S.T. Program pulled random kids out of classes and wearing victim shirts became "ghosts" to their classmates.

Following mock wreck exercises with the Greene County Rescue Squad, ambulances, and police. Students went to the gym and hear the numbers. Senior Torrie Lipper was one of the ghostly victims and said it was all to teach students the importance of being safe behind the wheel as prom approaches.

During the assembly student volunteers wore "drunk goggles" and demonstrated how difficult it is to perform under the influence.

Considering that the University of Central Arkansas mascot is a bear, it was only natural that one should be found less than a mile from campus.
