LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) - Just days after she was arrested for driving with a suspended license, a former Region 8 congressional candidate resigned her post with the Secretary of State's office.
Princella Smith of Wynne had been the director of education in Secretary of State Mark Martin's office.
But, according to the Associated Press, she submitted her resignation Friday.
On Tuesday Smith was pulled over by an Arkansas state trooper for driving through a stop sign. She was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving without a license plate and no proof of liability insurance.
Smith lost in the GOP's congressional primary to Rick Crawford of Jonesboro, who won the general election.
