CAMPBELL, MO (KAIT) – Dunklin County Sheriff's deputies say a man picked the wrong house to try and break into.

On Sunday morning dispatch received a call from a woman saying a man was trying to break into her home on Highway 53 north of Campbell.  The woman said she woke up and found a man yanking on the back door, trying to get into her kitchen.  The woman called her son who showed up with a shotgun.  The son pointed it at the suspect and made him get on the ground until police could arrive.

The Campbell Police Department arrested the man while Dunklin County Sheriff's deputies processed the man's vehicle, where deputies said they found a large amount of narcotics.

The man, 45-year-old Billy Ray Pickrell of Kennett was charged with trafficking drugs in the second degree and attempt to manufacture a controlled substance.  Pickrell is currently being held in the Dunklin County Justice center with a $100,000 cash only bond.
