WASHINGTON, D.C. (KAIT) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and CAMP USA Inc., of Broomfield, Colo. have announced a voluntary recall of Photon carabiners and Photon and Mach Express quickdraws.

The CPSC said while no injuries or deaths have been reported, the carabiner gate may open under stress, posing a risk of serious injury or death if the climber falls.

According to the CPSC, the carabiners were sold both individually or as components of the Photon Express and Mach Express quickdraw, and they were sold in a variety of colors including green, yellow, silver and brown at outdoor retail stores nationwide from February 2011 through March 2011 for between $8 and $12. CPSC also said the quickdraws had a white or black fabric strip with green, yellow, or gray stitching with a carabiner attached to each end.

Contact CAMP USA Inc. toll-free at (877) 421-2267 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday, or visit their website at www.camp-usa.com for a return and full refund.
