No Charges Yet in Golf Course Rumble Involving U of A Figures

September 19, 2003 - Posted at: 5:26 p.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Pulaski County's prosecutor says he is still considering charges in an altercation between a University of Arkansas trustee and a former Razorback who played in the NBA.

The trustee, Carl Johnson, showed up at a trustees' meeting today with a sling on his right arm.

Johnson told police that ex-Razorback and ex-Chicago Bull Darrell Walker assaulted him with two golf clubs after Walker refused to let Johnson and others play through during a round of golf at Chenal Country Club in west Little Rock.

Walker's attorney, Ron Clark, says Johnson attacked Walker first and the former hoops star responded appropriately.

Police did not make any arrests and turned the case over to Prosecutor Larry Jegley to decide on any charges.
