Some local drivers have feared that a bridge collapse like the one in Washington State this week could happen closer to home. People have been particularly fearful of the aging Black River Bridge that connects Black Rock and Portia on U.S. 63 in Lawrence County.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) – Arkansas's Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) has set up a call center for severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding impacting the state in order to gather information on damages as well as any information on missing persons.
SEOC says emergency crews are working on gathering damage assessments and reporting them at this time. They say if anyone has damaged property, to let county emergency management office know so it can be added to the total damages for the area.
