WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. -- Fall enrollment figures have brought good news to Williams Baptist College. Overall numbers are up at the four-year private college in Walnut Ridge, reflecting increases in several key areas.
The total number of students on WBC's main campus is 533 this fall, compared to 505 last year, a 5.5 percent increase. Overall enrollment, counting the main campus and three off-campus extensions, stands at 653, a 6.5 percent increase over last fall.
"As you would expect, we are very pleased with these figures. We saw healthy increases in first-time freshman and transfer students, and we also saw an increase in our percentage of returning students," says Angela Flippo, WBC's vice president for enrollment management.
This year's freshman class at Williams includes 122 students, up from 111 last year. The number of students transferring to WBC from other colleges climbed to 66 this year from 43 last fall.
