BLYTHEVILLE,
AR (KAIT) – A Blytheville man charged with murder was sentenced to 35 years in
prison.
According
to the Mississippi County Prosecutor's Office, Devontae Rivers was sentenced to
35 years in prison for the murder of 20-year-old Dorian Long.
Rivers
pleaded guilty to first degree murder, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery.
Police say Rivers robbed Long at gunpoint in Kennett,
Missouri on March 1, 2011, forced him into the trunk of his car and then drove
to Blytheville where police say he shot and killed Long. Police say Rivers then
dumped Long's body in a field off Highway 18.
Prosecutors
say during the interview process, Rivers admitted to shooting Long in the head.
