BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – A Blytheville man charged with murder was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

According to the Mississippi County Prosecutor's Office, Devontae Rivers was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of 20-year-old Dorian Long.

Rivers pleaded guilty to first degree murder, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery.

Police say Rivers robbed Long at gunpoint in Kennett, Missouri on March 1, 2011, forced him into the trunk of his car and then drove to Blytheville where police say he shot and killed Long. Police say Rivers then dumped Long's body in a field off Highway 18.
