State Police Say One Man Dead in Morning Shooting in Lawrence County

Sedgwick, Ark. -- Arkansas State Police and Lawrence County authorities this afternoon are investigating a shooting incident that occured shortly before noon today in Sedgwick in which one man is confirmed dead by State Police.

The incident reportedly occured at about 11:45 a.m. in a field east of Sedgwick.  Witnesses say a local man shot another local resident while the victim was working on a combine.  Witnesses also say the shooting may have been the result of an apparent dispute between the two men involving land and property.

Authorities have not yet released the names of anyone involved, and few officials details are available at this time.  K8 News has a crew on the scene and Lawrence County and more details will be offered on KAIT and at www.kait8.com as soon as possible.
