JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - More heavy rain fell overnight and the National Weather Service has a large area of eastern Arkansas and western Tennessee under a Flash Flood Warning. Several inches of rain had fallen in the area and more is on the way.
The entire region is under a Flash Flood Watch through Tuesday. A cold front stalled over the Mid-South allowing more rain to fall. It will be Tuesday until it is pushed out of the area. While localized flash flooding is possible, it is the continued river flooding that will be the biggest concern. While most rivers like the White, Black, St. Francis, and Mississippi won't be largely impacted, the extra rain will keep the rivers from receding anytime soon.
There is a slight risk of severe weather across southern Arkansas and Mississippi Sunday, but a few strong to severe storms are possible.
