GAMALIEL, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 woman free on bond on felony theft charges is back behind bars.
According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, on Wednesday deputies arrested 38-year-old Teresa Lynn McMains of Gamaliel.
She's suspected in the burglary of a home on April 18th. The victim told investigators she had been hospitalized for several days. When she returned home, the woman said she found it ransacked. She told deputies a camera and jewelry were missing, as well as $350 in cash along with her debit and food stamp cards.
Investigators say McMains used the cards at WalMart and the Town and County Supermarket. They say surveillance video confirms their suspicions.
McMains is in custody at the Baxter County Detention Center charged with residential burglary, financial identity theft, forgery and theft of property. All are felonies. She's also charged with three counts of misdemeanor theft of property.
At the time of her arrest was free on $35,000 bond on felony theft of property charges filed in December of 2010. She was awaiting trial in Circuit Court. The prosecuting attorney's office says her previous bond should be revoked.
