Harding Baseball ranked No. 8 regionally entering GSC tourney

The Harding baseball team is ranked No. 8 in the NCAA II South Region Rankings for the third straight week. The NCAA released the rankings Wednesday.

Next Wednesday, March 11, the NCAA will release the eight teams from the NCAA II South Region that will advance to the South Region Tournament that begins March 19.

Stillman College of Tuscaloosa, Ala., has already qualified for the South Region Tournament by winning the Southern Intercollegiate Conference championship. The winner of the Gulf South Conference Tournament, along with the regular season winner of the Sunshine State Conference also earns an automatic berth.

In addition to the three automatic berths, the next five highest-ranked teams in the South Region earn at-large berths into the tournament.

Harding has a 37-10 overall record and a 26-9 mark against South Region teams. The Bisons open GSC Tournament play Friday at 1 p.m. in Millington, Tenn., against Alabama-Huntsville.
