SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) - A private school in Springdale has
petitioned the Arkansas Activities Association to play in a higher
Shiloh Christian sent a formal letter of appeal to the
association this week.
The school has been in Class 4A for the past three years, but
would fall to Class 3A in 2012 as part of the state's bi-annual
classification numbers based on enrollment.
The Northwest Arkansas Times reports that Shiloh Christian has
176 students. That would place the school in Class 2A, but private
schools are bumped up one classification.
In a statement, school officials said Shiloh Christian has
outgrown the lower classification, and requesting the move to 5A
will better position the school for future growth.
