POINSETT COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Several homes are underwater in the Oak Donnick community in Poinsett County.

The water is up to the roof of some homes, which sit along the St. Francis River. The water has receded about 15 inches since it crested a few days ago but some residents have already lost everything.

"It makes me feel sad," Doris Brooks, a resident of the Oak Donnick community told Region 8 News, "All I've done is cry. Lose everything you work for.  Down through here there are about nine, nine homes on this strip right here. All of them are under water," Brooks said.

Brooks said she has spent the last week or so in a mobile trailer at Lake Poinsett State Park.

She says she's not sure what to do once the water recedes.
