7 arrested in drug roundup

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) – A months-long investigation by the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office ends with seven people behind bars.

According to Sheriff Bob Holder, deputies arrested seven people Friday night on various drug charges.  In addition to the arrest warrants, deputies served two search warrants and seized a quantity of drugs.

Those arrested were:

  • David H. Chilton of Arbyrd, MO—2 counts of distribution of a controlled substance.  Bond was set at $20,000.  He is now free on bond.
  • Amy Ellen Cooper of Cardwell, MO—3 counts of distribution of a controlled substance.  She remains in jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
  • Gregory Wayne McGrew of Cardwell, MO—2 counts of distribution of a controlled substance.  He is free on $30,000 bond.
  • Catherine Thompson of Cardwell, MO—2 counts of distribution of a controlled substance.  She is being held on $30,000 bond.
  • Ronald Kirk Thompson of Cardwell, MO—3 counts of distribution of a controlled substance.  He's in custody on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
  • Eddie J. Ward of Cardwell, MO—1 count of distribution of a controlled substance.  He's free on $20,000 bond.
  • James Richard Zurhorst of Cardwell, MO—1 count of distribution of a controlled substance.  He's being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

All of the suspects are due in Circuit Court on Tuesday, May 10.

Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Cardwell Police Department assisted in the arrests.
