Antique cars on display to benefit food pantry

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Antique cars rolled into the Bill's Fresh Market off Highway 49 in Jonesboro on Saturday all to help a local food pantry.

The Arkansas Antique Car Club held an antique car show to benefit the Helping Neighbors Food Pantry in Jonesboro.

Cars from as far back as 1914 were on display and people in attendance had the chance to vote for their favorite car and donate food or money.

Clarence Cooper is the President of the Arkansas Antique Car Club and he urges those that can to help out the food pantry. "We chose (to help) the food pantry because they have no other source of income besides donations."

This year was the first year that this car club has hosted the car show. There are similar shows hosted by other car clubs around town.

Thanksgiving is a time to be with loved ones and enjoy good food, but since that is not an option for everyone, members of the Jonesboro community came together to make sure as many people as possible were fed.
