JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - If you've ever wanted to see a steam engine train up close and personal, you'll soon have your chance.
The Union Pacific "Great Excursion Train Adventure" will be making several stops in Region 8 starting in June.
Union Pacific's legendary steam locomotive, No. 844, will depart Kansas City on Monday, May 30. Following stops in Jefferson City, Hermann and St. Louis it will head south.
The train is expected to make a whistle stop in Dexter the following Monday, June 6. From there the locomotive heads to Poplar Bluff, Walnut Ridge and Bald Knob before steaming into Little Rock.
