AR highway officials to hold meeting on road plan

ELKINS, AR (AP) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will hold a public involvement meeting in Elkins to discuss plans for improvements to Arkansas Highway 16.

Highway officials say plans call for replacing two bridges on the West and Middle Forks of the White River in Elkins in northwest Arkansas.

The meeting is set for 4 p.m. May 26 in the Harris Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Highway officials say the public is invited to view displays, ask questions and offer comments on the project.

Officials say anyone seeking additional information should contact the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department's Environmental Division.
