From Arkansas State University
Arkansas State University held its Spring Commencement ceremony last Saturday at the Convocation Center, and 23 student-athletes from the Red Wolves' 16 NCAA Intercollegiate sports earned their college degrees at the conclusion of the spring semester.
The most recent group of ASU student-athletes to receive their diplomas represented the sports of baseball, men's and women's basketball, football, men's and women's track and field, women's bowling, men's and women's golf and women's soccer.
The student-athletes that graduated this May were Brad Allen (baseball), Andres Caceres (baseball), Tyler Smith (baseball), Jeremy Thomas (men's basketball), Jeff Blake (football), Demario Davis (football), Drew Hilton (football), Derek Lawson (football), Kiano Prater (football), Jonathan White (football), Jahbari McLennan (football), Derell Pigram (men's track and field), Terell Pigram (men's track and field), Rusty Staggs (men's track and field), Jazmine Taylor (women's basketball), Emily Fravel (women's bowling), Lauren Pulver (women's bowling), Claire Woosley (women's golf), Miranda Wiley (women's soccer), Mary Krug (women's track and field), Staci Papageorge (women's track and field), Dawn L'Heureux (women's track and field) and Warren Hood (men's golf).
Additionally, 164 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 grade point average for the 2011 spring semester, including 32 with a 4.0. There were a school-record 186 members on the 2010 fall ASU Athletic Director's Honor Roll, and 40 of those student-athletes held a 4.0 to also set a school record.
