Osceola Man Dies in U.S. 61 Accident

OSCEOLA, Ark. -- State Police say an Osceola man was killed yesterday when his pickup ran off the road and into a tree.

Police say 64-year-old Johnny Childress was headed south on U.S. 61 in Mississippi County when the truck went off the road, into a ditch, overturned and struck a tree.  Childress was pronounced dead at the scene.

Also Sunday, State Police say a Stuttgart man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car.

The deaths bring to 476 the number killed on Arkansas roads this year, compared to 493 at this point a year ago.
