WALNUT RIDGE, AR — Kids from the Nettleton Charter school, known as Raider Open Door Academy, got a special treat outside the classroom today. Pilots Skip Stewart and Greg Bird showed them a few tricks, after a short lesson on Aerobatic Aviation.

"I decided several years ago, I wanted to do Aerobatics as a way to express himself. It's a very interesting experience," said Pilot Greg Bird.

The school is a new Charter project that takes students for 5th through 7th grades. "We try to reward our kids at least once a month, to some kind of fun outing that can kind of add to their education experience and kine of take them out of the small world they live in, and open them up to experiences, and show them the real world", said Master Teacher Nancy Covey.

The students are learning a lesson in flight as a reward for a job well done. They only attend these kinds of special events if they've behaved in class, and worked hard on their daily tasks.
