JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling GE Food Processors, sold exclusively at Walmart, because they pose a laceration and fire hazard.

According to the CPSC, the safety interlock system on the processor can fail, and can emit smoke or catch fire. If people operate the processor without the lid, it poses a laceration hazard.

Walmart has received a total of 58 complaints, 24 of the processor operating without a lid and 21 of those resulted in injured fingertips. They have also received 34 reports of the units smoking, 3 turning into fires.

Consumers should immediately stop using the food processors and return the product to Walmart for a full refund.
