QUITMAN, AR (KAIT) – There's less meth on the streets of Region 8.  A lot less.

Cleburne County Sheriff's deputies working in conjunction with Arkansas State Police, the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Quitman Police Department recently seized more than half a pound of methamphetamine.

It all started when Trooper Brent Bittle and Quitman Police Officer Clint Vaughn arrested an individual at a sobriety checkpoint for possession of a stolen gun and meth.  During the investigation, deputies and agents made two more arrests and seized even more meth.  Investigators estimate the street value of the drugs at $65,000.

Arrested were 28-year-old Oscar Diaz Aguirre, 43-year-old Gabriel Martin and 50-year-old Tommy Clayton Lacotts.  Martin and Aguirre are being held in the Cleburne County Detention Center.  Lacotts is free on bond.
