GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – According to the Greene County Sheriff's Office two men broke into a home Thursday night and stole several guns.
Paragould Police say while questioning 26-year-old James Dowdy he admitted he and 28-year-old Tharon Michael burglarized a home on Highway 34 near Lafe. Investigators say the suspected burglars took several firearms, including five shotguns and two rifles, which were found in Michael's vehicle. Officers also recovered a flat screen TV and a laptop computer. The victims' daughter said a gold pocket watch and a wedding band were still missing.
Dowdy, who is a convicted felon, is charged with residential burglary, theft greater than $2,500 and possession of a firearm by certain persons. He is being held in the Greene County Jail.
According to the sheriff's report, Michael was taken to the hospital emergency room after consuming a large amount of prescription pills.
