JONESBORO, AR - Arkansas State University received a $2 million gift toward a new alumni association building this morning.  The new center is to be constructed at the school's campus next spring.

ASU Alumni Darrel and Charlotte Pugh Cooper of Clarkston, Michigan, made the contribution to help build the $5 million facility, which will be called the Cooper Alumni Center.

The building is to be set among large oak trees next to a lake.  It will house a reception area and a banquet room.  The facility is expected to cover 20,000 square feet.
