Arlington standout signs with WBC

From Williams Baptist College

A baseball standout from Arlington, Tex., has signed his commitment to play for Williams Baptist College. Dannie E. Rogers, Jr., signed with the Eagles Monday, May 30th, at WBC.

Rogers, a 2011 graduate of Bowie High School, was a 1st team all-district player and was selected as the team MVP. He is a center fielder, and he was in the top 10 for batting average in the district.

"I feel like Dannie has all the tools to have a lot of success at our level," said Williams head coach Frank Lee. "Like many Texas players, we feel like his type of talent often falls through the cracks. We feel very blessed to have such a quality young man and to be able to sign him this late in the recruiting process."

Rogers is the son of Dannie, Sr., and Shennetah Rogers of Arlington.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge. The Eagles compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
