JONESBORO, AR  — After hours of deliberation, twelve female jurors convicted 30 year-old Joel Holloway of capital murder, with a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Holloway confessed to having killed his cousin's wife, Tracey Holloway almost a year ago in Jonesboro.

Jurors had several options to choose from in the sentencing phase, including an acquittal due to mental defect. The defense had been pushing for this sentence, claiming that Joel Holloway suffered from psychosis which led him to commit murder.

The defense says it will appeal the verdict of capital murder sometime next week.
