LITTLE ROCK, AR --The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration plans to save $640 thousand dollars a year by reducing the number of revenue offices around the state by 38.
Legislators were told Saturday that the agency will close 33 revenue offices, largely in rural areas, and merge nine urban offices into four offices with extended hours.
Department director Richard Weiss told lawmakers in a letter that the office mergers in urban areas will take place over the next several months.
The offices slated for closure will be shut down by December first.
