JONESBORO, Ark., (ASU) – Arkansas State head men's basketball coach John Brady released the following statement concerning the 2011 Arkansas State men's basketball squad:
"Davon Hayes will not be on scholarship at ASU next season and will instead attend a prep school on the east coast where he has family," said Brady. "He will then have an opportunity to enhance his eligibility standing and hopefully join our team the next school year."
"Chano Rashiduddin has decided to transfer and play his final season of eligibility in a situation where playing time is more likely to come his way. I appreciate Chano's attitude and his approach to our team. He leaves academically in good shape and will be in a position to graduate wherever he chooses to go."
"Dennis Harris, who walked on this past semester and was not on scholarship, will not join our basketball team in the fall. When Dennis came he needed to meet certain criteria for his scholarship to be awarded to him for the summer and fall. Unfortunately, those criteria were not met. I certainly wish him success in where he goes from this point on. He has a supportive family behind him and I wish him well."
"As of now, we have met the requirement of twelve scholarships for next year and our APR number continues to climb above the NCAA requirement for the past two seasons. Jeremy Thomas graduated this past spring and Rashad Allison will finish this summer. Donald Boone graduated last year and attended grad school this past fall. I am excited about our returning players, the experience they bring and I am excited about our signees with the influx of talent they add to our team. We are looking forward to the continued growth and improvement of the basketball program at Arkansas State."
