JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling about 10,000 musical shaker instruments because they pose a laceration and choking hazard.

According to the CPSC, the recall is for the Gripper Shaker musical instrument. The handle from the shaker can detach, exposing a rough edge and poses as a laceration hazard. The detached handle also has small steel pellets and a plastic plus which can pose as a choking hazard.

The company has received one report of a detached handle, but no injuries were reported.

CPSC recommends consumers stop using the musical instrument immediately and contact Woodstock Percussions Inc. for a refund.
