JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro Fire Division Chief Marty Hamrick picked up $20,000 worth of equipment for Jonesboro's Search and Rescue team.
Hamrick says equipment will now be accessible to them that before they would have to send off for.
"It's going to save a lot of time. Especially the camera," Hamrick said. "It telescopes and we can send it into voids where normally we would physically have to crawl in and search. We can send a camera in to do that for us. If we don't see anything, that's going to speed up that process that we can move on to the next priority area," Hamrick said.
In addition to the camera, a rescue chain capable of cutting concrete and a drill that can cut an access hole in steel or concrete were also part of the equipment.
The equipment was obtained through a Homeland Security Grant and will be available to all of the Northeast Arkansas area for use.
