JONESBORO (KAIT) - Both southbound lanes and one north bound lane of Highway 63 are open Tuesday morning after a truck carrying a load of tires catches fire overnight.
According to Jonesboro Fire Department Battalion Chief Alan Dunn, the truck was heading northbound on the highway in south Jonesboro at 2:30 a.m. when the driver pulled over to checkout a high temperature warning.
Chief Dunn says after the driver pulled over, the wheels and cargo caught fire.
The driver was not injured.
Both northbound lanes and one southbound lane was closed between Nestle Road and Commerce Drive during the incident. Traffic was being rerouted onto Nestle Road.
