Region 8 man killed in single car accident

CLAY COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 man is killed in a single car accident after police say he lost control of his car.

The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 62 east and Highway 135 around 1pm Monday.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Doyles McElyea crossed the center line, hit an embankment, and overturned.

McElyea was thrown from the car. ASP says he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
