Multiple Clay County churches come together to help others

CORNING, AR (KAIT) - Organizers gathered Tuesday in Corning to hand out food to the residents of Randolph and Clay Counties.

Volunteers gather on the first Tuesday of every month at the Agape House in Corning to hand out food to the needy. Not only do residents receive food from this association, but clothing is distributed too through clothing drives.

The association is a combination of the 29 Southern Baptist churches in Randolph, Clay, Greene and Lawrence counties.

Missions Director, Don Settles says a lot of people benefit from this.

"Usually on food day we distribute food to about 240 families, which will be about 500 people we'll feed," Settles told Region 8 News.

Settles says in a years time they'll distribute around 40,000 meals.
