Convicted Murderer Now Asking For New Trial

JONESBORO, AR -- A juror's comments are prompting a Jonesboro man convicted of capital murder to ask for a new trial.

Joel Holloway's lawyer says a juror reported that she voted "guilty" only because she wanted to get out of the jury room so she could take her diabetes medicine.

Holloway was sentenced to life in prison without parole last week for killing his cousin's wife.

The juror held out for four-and-a-half hours before changing her vote.  Defense attorney David Rees said the juror called him and said she eventually voted to convict because she desparately needed to leave.

Rees asked the judge to conduct a hearing within ten days.
