Jimmy Doyle and Patsy Gail also join Gene
Mickey Gilley returns to the Gene Williams Country Television Show, this time in the guest's seat for the next broadcast of the only weekly television show taped in Branson about Branson.
"My good friend Mickey Gilley tells us about his new projects including Gilley's in Dallas," said Gene Williams, whose show is sponsored by Lucas Oil Products. "It's because of Gilley that country music joined the mainstream." The Gene Williams Country Television Show is currently seen in 11 markets with three more markets being added soon.
Mickey has had 17 number-one hits including Room Full of Roses, I Overlooked an Orchid, City Lights, Stand By Me and A Headache Tomorrow (Or a Heartache Tonight). The film Urban Cowboy -- which was based on Gilley's Club and featured a cameo by Mickey, as well as several of his songs -- brought him to national attention, which resulted in a string of six straight number one singles.
"In the early '90s, he became one of the first country stars to open a permanent theater in Branson, Mo. and now he is opening the club Gilley's in Dallas," Gene said.
"Mickey is followed by club owners and singers Jimmy Doyle and Patsy Gail who have Jimmy Doyle's in North Little Rock. Jimmy Doyle and Patsy Gail both are fun guests for my show. Their videos showcase Jimmy's talent as a song writer."
Mickey's show will be broadcast on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 10:30 p.m. on WB 31 in the Springfield/Branson/Harrison markets; Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6 a.m. in Little Rock/Fort Smith and Shreveport, La. on Channel 4 KARK/NBC and Jonesboro, Ark., Dallas, Texas and Memphis, Tenn. on Channel 8 KAIT/ABC at 5 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 1 on WB 58 Nashville at midnight and Fox at 11:30 p.m.
