CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) - After responding to a possible theft, Caruthersville Police officers arrested 20-year-old Christopher Hatley for stealing a family member's electric wheelchair.
According to police, officers found Hatley on the wheelchair drinking a beer. Officers arrested him for a minor in possession of alcohol and willfully opposing a police officer in proper discharge of duties.
Hatley was transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center where he's being held in lieu of $309, cash only bond. After the incident, the wheelchair was returned to the rightful owner of the Hatley family.
