K8-8K Inaugural Run

Jonesboro, AR — It was a beautiful day to do just about anything outdoors.

Especially perfect for the inaugural run of the K8-8K.

With that, nearly 200 runners and walkers began the K8-8K out at Craighead Forest park this morning.

The nearly 5 mile run/walk was all a part of an effort to help raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society.

((Diane Holmes/Breast Cancer Survivor: Well, I'm a breast cancer survivor for two years now, and to me this means a lot. The more money we can raise, the more opportunity we as survivors have to live longer. So it's a real important thing.))

The total raised for the American Cancer Society was more than $4000.00 and the money will stay right here in Region 8.

The overall winner of today's race was Todd Moroney with a time of 25 minutes.... 47 seconds.
