MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT)- A call to a car crash in Baxter County leads to the arrest of a Mountain Home man.
According the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was called out to a car crash on Timberlane Road Sunday afternoon. The sheriff says the deputy found a car wrecked in a ditch and that a man was walking towards him.
The man was 22-year-old Henry Nielsen Jr. of Mountain Home. The deputy says Nielsen was extremely unsteady and that his speech was slurred. Nielsen was then given a sobriety test by the officer, who then arrested him for driving while intoxicated.
According to officers, a search of Nielson revealed several prescription medications in a small metal canister in his pocket. Officers later searched Nielsen's vehicle and say they found drug paraphernalia.
In addition to Nielsen being charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving, he was also charged with possession of Xanax and Klonopin. Plus another charge for possessing drug paraphernalia.
Nielsen's bond was set at $7500, he will appear in court on June 30th.
