Summer reading program kicks off

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-  During the summer, children will have plenty of opportunities to learn about humanities while reading.

The Digital Reading Club will be taking place at several locations in Jonesboro,  here is the schedule and locations:

• CityYouth Ministries, 118 Burke Ave. Sessions will begin at 1 p.m. on Mondays, June 13-August 3.

• Hispanic Community Services, 311 W. Huntington Ave. Sessions will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 14-30.

• St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 600 E. Washington, Ave. Sessions will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, June 14-28.

• St. Paul Baptist Church, 716 E. Washington Ave. Sessions will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, July 12-26.

Featured activities include reading groups, talking books and audio books.  This is the third year for the club which is sponsored by a grant from the Arkansas Humanities Council.  Additional support also comes from the College of Communications at Arkansas State University.
