BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Blytheville Police are asking for the public's help to gather information about an apparent homicide.
Criminal Investigation Division Commander Captain Scott Adams says the Blytheville Police Department is investigating the apparent homicide of Dexter Burgess, of Kentucky. Captain Adams says his body was found in a green Toyota car partially in a ditch next to the entrance of a warehouse.
Police say they found the white, male's body on June 10 around 3 p.m. while responding to a call about a vehicle being in a ditch off a parking lot in the Industrial Park area of the city. Upon further investigation, Captain Adams says investigating officers found "injuries consistent with a homicide."
According to Adams, tools found in the vehicle suggest Burgess was an electrician and may have been working at a local factory.
Police say Burgess' body was taken to the morgue at the Great River Medical Center, and will later be taken to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.
If anyone has information on this investigation, they are asked to please contact the Blytheville Police Department at (870) 762-0400 or the C.O.P.S hotline at (870) 762-2677.
