Councilman chosen as mayor in Wynne election

WYNNE, AR (AP) - A city councilman won a four-person race in a special election to become mayor of Wynne.

Unofficial returns show Councilman Bob Stacy received nearly 69 percent of the vote in Tuesday's election to defeat Philip Bankston, James Carney and Christi Lindley Foltz.

Stacy will replace Mayor Paul Nichols. Nichols is retiring July 15 after 12 years in office and with 3½ years remaining on his term.
