DANVILLE, AR - A teenager has been convicted of beating up a jailer at a youth lock-up in Yell County during an escape attempt.

17-year-old Eric Perkins of Blytheville, was found guilty of aggravated robbery, first degree battery and attempted escape after the March 4 beating of jailer Rhonda Mitchell.

He was sentenced to twenty years in prison.

The escape attempt came just two days before Perkins was to be released from the facility.
