FAYETTEVILLE, AR (UofA) - Sophomore Austin Cook and freshman Sebastian Cappelen of the University of Arkansas men's golf team were each named honorable mention Ping All-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Thursday.
The All-America honor for Cappelen is his second of the year as he was named a third-team selection by Golfweek earlier this spring while Cook takes his first All-America honor The pair were two of 26 players named to Ping's honorable mention squad.
"I am really proud of both these guys," Arkansas head coach Brad McMakin said. "I've said this before, but Sebastian had an unbelievable year and should continue to grow as a person and player. Austin found his groove a little later in the season, but once he did was as good as anyone on the golf course. His play at the NCAA Championships was outstanding and I can't wait until we get these guys back on campus for next year."
