San Jose Sabercats sign ASU alum Kiano Prater

SAN JOSE, CA (thesanjosesabercats.com) - The SaberCats today announced WR Edward Britton and OL/DL Kiano Prater have been added to the 2011 roster. The team also announced that OL/DL Atlas Herrion, WR Burl Toler and WR Scott Schoettgen have been placed on the Injured Reserve List while FB/LB Gus Tyson has been placed on reassignment.

Prater (6-5, 295) played two seasons for Arkansas State. As a junior, he played in 12 games (10 starts) for the Red Wolves after transferring from San Bernandino Valley College, Prater started two seasons on the offensive line, earning second-team all-conference honors as a sophomore.

The ArenaBowl XVI, XVIII and XXI champion San Jose SaberCats (5-8) opened the 2011 season against the defending ArenaBowl champion Spokane Shock on March 11 with a victory as they returned to the Arena Football League for their 15th season in 2011. They will take on the Cleveland Gladiators (7-6) as they look to move to 6-8 and break their six-game losing streak.
