No progress on debt talks

WASHINGTON D.C. (KAIT) - President Obama is beginning to get a bit ticked at the lack of progress on getting a deal done on the nation's debt ceiling.

Now the President is pushing Congress to work through their upcoming recess around the 4th of July holiday to get a deal done before the August 2nd deadline.

Debt negotiations between the administration and Congress stalled late last week. Vice President Joe Biden had been meeting for weeks with congressional leaders from both parties in an effort to hash out an agreement to raise the nation's debt ceiling before Aug. 2, but those talks broke down once House Majority Whip Eric Cantor left the negotiations.
