HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. (AP) - The panel that's redrawing legislative district boundaries is to hold a public meeting in Helena-West Helena.
The board is made up of Gov. Mike Beebe, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel and Secretary of State Mark Martin. It will meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips County Community College.
The board is to listen to public input in advance of the panel's plan to release proposed new district maps on July 19th. A public comment period will follow the release of the maps.
Beebe and McDaniel are Democrats while Martin is a Republican, giving Democrats sway over how the final product looks.
