Concrete truck flips several times; driver airlifted

SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Sharp County emergency crews and Arkansas State Police spent almost 2 hours working a concrete truck accident on Highway 175 and 63.

According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, around 1:30 Friday afternoon a concrete truck flipped multiple times in front of the Flash Market just off Highway 63.

Police say the driver was traveling on Highway 175 and couldn't stop as he approached Highway 63. According to witnesses he tried to turn onto Highway 63, but flipped several times instead.

Witnesses used a tractor to peel the roof off the cab to pull the driver from the truck. The driver was being airlifted to the Cox Medical Center in Springfield. No word on his condition.
