JONESBORO (ASU) – Five members of the Arkansas State football team have been named preseason All-Sun Belt Conference by Blue Ribbon Yearbook, which also placed the Red Wolves third in its 2011 predicted order of finish for the league.
A-State placed two offensive and three defensive players on the publication's all-conference team, comprised of just one offensive, defensive and special teams unit. The Red Wolves' five different players selected tied Florida International for the most among the nine-team league.
Representing the ASU offense were senior wide receiver Dwayne Frampton (Wilmington, Calif.) and senior center Tom Castilaw (Flower Mound, Texas). The Red Wolves' defensive selections included senior lineman Dorvus Woods (St. Louis, Mo.), senior linebacker Demario Davis (Brandon, Miss.) and senior cornerback Darron Edwards (Baltimore, Md.).
While the Red Wolves were picked to finish third in the 2011 Sun Belt Conference race according to Blue Ribbon, the preseason publication picked Florida International to finish first and Troy second. Middle Tennessee was picked to finish fourth, Louisiana-Monroe fifth, Western Kentucky sixth, North Texas seventh, Florida Atlantic eighth and Louisiana-Lafayette ninth.
