GILLETT, AR (AP) - The family of former Congressman Marion Berry, who is being treated for cancer, says doctors have told him his lymphoma is in remission.
Berry's daughter Ann Coggin wrote on the CaringBridge website Tuesday night doctors at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences have concluded that the cancer appears to have cleared.
Berry had surgery in June for a brain tumor, after which he was diagnosed with lymphoma.
Since then, he has undergone five cancer treatments, and Coggin says those treatments will continue.
Berry served seven terms in Congress until deciding against a re-election bid last year. He cited health concerns as the reason.
